The La Pouyade is a mature Eau-de-Vie with an average age of 8 years. It is lively on the palate with flavors and aromas of raisins, ripe melon, nuts, exotic spice and the Fillioux family's trademark: orange confit. This cognac is warm but quite balanced with a soft finish.
About this wine producer: Among the very best of the small "grower-producers" of Cognac, is Christophe Fillioux proprietor of the small firm, Jean Fillioux. Christophe is the fifth generation of Fillioux to carry the tradition since the firms founding in 1880. Christophe’s vineyards lie in the very heart of the Grande Champagne district. He personally oversees, (if not performs) every aspect of production: harvest, fermentation, distillation, aging, blending and bottling. Christophe is rather self-effacing and modest; “I do not change anything, my father and my grandfather had set the bar very high, my challenge is to stay the course,” he says.
