Please join us as we welcome Aurélien Palthey, winemaker and director of Domaine André Bonhomme, visiting Moore Brothers Wine Company for the first time. We have worked with this estate since the 1980s when we poured the estate's "Mâcon-Viré" Le Bec-Fin.
The domaine was established in 1956, when André Bonhomme bottled his own wine instead of selling it in bulk to the négociants. He realized almost immediately that being the first to estate-bottle in the Mâconnais would have a long-term advantage: he was able to get a good, first-hand look at the wines of each of his vineyards, and by experiment, learn which viticultural discipline and winemaking protocol are best suited to each parcel of vines.
Today, the domaine he established continues under the direction of his grandson Aurélien Palthey. Only in his early thirties, Aurélien already holds the reins of a French national treasure: one of the great estates of Burgundy.
