Henri Germain in Meursault
Domaine Henri Germain was established in 1973 when Henri, brother of François Germain of Château de Chorey les Beaune set out on his own. His son Jean-François is now in charge, though Henri continues in the vineyards. Most of the production comes from the premiers crus of Beaune, Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet, including Beaune Bressandes, Meursault Perrières, and Chassagne-Montrachet les Morgeots. Only a tiny quantity of the white and red Bourgognes are made, both from sites in the commune of Meursault. Farming is natural, and winemaking is traditional. The Germain wines are not usually flashy, but are classic, long distance runners.
